Sheehy Collar Button, Teflon® When myringotomy is indicated in the treatment of middle ear conditions such as chronic serous otitis media, OTOMED offers the most popular and economical ventilation tube. After insertion into the middle ear cavity, this product temporarily substitutes for the Eustachian tubes by equalizing pressure between the middle ear and the outer ear canal. The tube also allows any remaining fluid to drain into the outer ear, minimizing any further build-up of fluid. SHEEHY COLLAR BUTTON This tube was designed by James Sheehy, M.D. of the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles. It has a large, 1.27mm lumen and sharp tube-to-flange angles.
